9.358 End of Blogging?

I use Photobucket to upload and link all of my photos to my blog, and unfortunately Photobucket recently updated their terms and conditions stating that for free accounts, they do not allow any image linking or 3rd party image hosting. This is why you see all these ugly broken image links. To get the privileges of image linking and 3rd party hosting, I'd have to pay a whopping $399/year. Screw that!

So I don't know where I will go from here... I've been reading about how people are saying that Photobucket will go out of business soon if they keep this up. I think I'll work on downloading all of my content off of Photobucket in case it happens. I feared this kind of thing may happen with Blogger or Photobucket, but I didn't anticipate it so soon and without any notice.

My blog is my memories... and they're taking it all away :'(

It has been some time since the Mister and I visited Toronto's downtown core (our favourite place).

sometext
We visited back when it was still Spring when the Eaton's Centre still had their cherry blossom tree.

sometext
sometext
We ate at Eggspectation since it's been such a long time since we've eaten here.

I got the eggs benedict. Yum.

sometext
We went shopping at the Marshalls on Yonge (our favourite Marshall's store) and I came across this nice furniture piece.

sometext
Also saw this cool corner shelf.

I did manage to find a few tops for work and for weekends. A great find was the Rachel Roy pants for $30 or $40 (can't remember exactly).

sometext
We visited Uniqlo so I could pick up some more of their light camisoles that I love so much. I also picked up their lounge pants in hopes that it would be perfect to wear at home. You guys.. whatever you do, do not get these. I don't even know what to make of these lounge pants. The crotch area is so loose and big and the whole pant itself is too long. It looks absolutely ridiculous on.

Can't wait until we get to visit Toronto again this long weekend for the waterfront festival and to celebrate Canada Day! Canada's 150th birthday! :D

sometext
This was the time I met up with my coworkers (and former corworker) for dinner at Jack Astor's. It was fun to meet up with them, especially catching up with my former coworker who recently got engaged. Her ring was beautiful.

sometext
Here is the food stand, Lemongrass Kitchen, at Dixie Park food court that we love to visit and eat at.

sometext
Their spicy chicken wings with rice is yummy. This is what I always order from here.

sometext
We recently discovered Arigato, a Japanese food stand tucked away in a corner at the Dixie Park food court.

sometext
sometext
Their Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki are good but the chef is a bit heavy handed on the sauce. I like to eat it for a quick fix for my Japanese food cravings.

sometext
Another visit to the China Garden again. They serve Hakka food- a fusion of Indian and Chinese cuisine.

For Mother's Day, my siblings and I bought my mom a Pandora bracelet with charms from each of us. It was funny because the week before my mom's friend told her of how her daughter wished her happy mother's day. She started thinking of why us kids had forgotten and hadn't wished her a happy mother's day. It was only when she asked her other friend that she got informed that Mother's Day wasn't until next week LOL. When she told us the story, I could tell that she was getting teary eyed. Little did she know we had a Pandora bracelet waiting because I knew how much she wanted one. She kept telling us how her friend's kids got them a Pandora bracelet and every birthday or celebration they would get a bead.

Union Chicken
25 The West Mall, Etobicoke, ON M9C 1B8

Taken from the site: "At Union Chicken, we pride ourselves on serving you only the happiest, healthiest organic chickens - That's why we make sure all of our birds roam freely in wide-open spaces, with access to fresh air and plenty of sunshine. Each one is raised on a local family-run farm, in a low-density flock, without the use of any hormones or antibiotics. They enjoy a wholesome diet of non-GMO grains, free from pesticides, herbicides and animal by-products."

Later in the evening, we went to eat at Union Chicken to celebrate.

None of us had been here before so it was new to all of us.

I got the Quarter Rotisserie Chicken with Triple Cooked Fries. The chicken was really good, very savoury and tender. The fries were served with their Piri Piri sauce and it too was so good!

Service was great. They were attentive and we got our food in a fair amount of time. The decor and atmosphere was rustic and very comforting. They had tv's showing the Jay's game on so it had a sports bar touch to it. I especially loved how they used Staub cast irons to serve the food on. It was a very nice touch.

Overall: Ambience A-, Food A+, Service A+, Price A-.

A treat from work on someone's last day. She got me the new McDonald's Oreo Frappe- which by the way, was super delicious!

sometext

The amazing grab at Hudson's Bay. I got this 3.4L Le Creuset cast iron for $180! Original price is $470!

I went shopping recently at The Hudson's Bay and got this long super light cardigan from Vero Moda. It's super great to throw on on chilly days or when I want some extra coverage at work. I also got this super cute floral top from Design Lab. I am not courageous enough to wear it alone but it would look great paired with a blazer.

A few finds at H&M. The tops are all for work. The blazer I can wear to work or for going out. I've recently been on the hunt for new tops because there are a few tops I wear to work that have completely worn out.

Last but not least, I found these summer sandals at Winners for $40. Believe it or not, other than flip flops, I have never owned a pair of sandals before since I was a kid. In high school and through university up until now, I could never find a pair of sandals that I liked and something my feet looked good in. I had tried these styles before but they never looked right. Luckily I came across these gems. I was in the market for these styles with the beads because Elle had hauled a similar pair from Aldo's which was more expensive than mine.

Anyway, I'm currently sick at home. I took the day off from work because I knew I wouldn't have been able to handle it. I got a really bad cold I guess. I've been super tired, coughing and blowing my nose constantly. Instead of just lying around bed all day, I thought I would be productive and do a post today. Hope you enjoy.

Happy Canada 150th Day to my fellow Canadians! I probably won't see you again until after the long weekend, so I hope you all enjoy it with your family and friends!

9.356 Does Anyone Even Care Anymore? Sephora VIB + Shiseido Warehouse Sale Spring 2017

No, but seriously, do you even care? It's mid June and the Sephora sale was 2 months ago, not to mention the Shiseido sale which was last month. It seems like every time I tell myself that today will be the day that I blog, I find myself kicking back watching youtube or Netflix.

Anyway, I thought it would still be useful to blog about what I got from Sephora and Shiseido. I've had some time to use them and it's great to document for my own records.

sometext
Please excuse the lighting, I took these photos at night because that was the only time I could do it. The above is what I got from the Sephora VIB sale- minus a toner I got from Fresh (forgot to include it in the pic) which I'll show you below.

The main thing I wanted to get was the new Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner. Firstly, I love anything rose scented, and secondly, look how cool the bottle looks!

sometext
I admit, the packaging had me at first sight. The toner smells really good, and I think it's an okay one. It feels like water on the skin and it doesn't leave a residue behind, which to me, doesn't feel that hydrating to be honest. It's essentially the same with or without it in my skincare regime. It didn't add anything and it hasn't made a difference to my skin. It's more of a luxury item than anything; just a nice bonus, a pleasant experience to add to your skincare regime. It's $54CAD, so it's quite pricey for what it is. I'd say you can skip this product as I don't find it necessary. The toners I would recommend are the ones from Shiseido since those actually feel hydrating.

sometext
The other item I was super excited about was this Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in "Prismatic Amethyst". This is my first Becca product. I'm in awe with the gorgeous packaging.

sometext
The highlighter is a lavender chrome colour (my picture doesn't capture how pink the powder actually looks). I bought it on the recommendation of Lisa. It's a very different and unique highlighter compared to what I own. If you use a light hand, you get this beautiful opalescent lavender looking glow. If you use more or a heavier hand, you get more of that chrome lavender effect.

sometext
It can look quite shimmery/opalescent if you want it to. The product itself feels a bit creamy as well. If you touch the powder, it doesn't feel as dry as a regular powder.

sometext
I ended up picking up two Burberry lipsticks. I picked up "English Rose" from the Burberry Kisses Lipstick line and I also repurchased "Nude Rose" from the Burberry Lip Velvet Lipstick line. The lip velvet formulation is my favourite, and "Nude Rose" is by far my favourite lipstick out of all the lippies I own.

sometext
I love Burberry lipsticks as much as I love the Dior ones. Both companies make the best lipstick formulation and colours. Left swatch is "English Rose", right swatch is "Nude Rose".

sometext
Speaking of Dior, I wanted to try out their new Dior Addict Lacquer Stick line. Now that I'm older, I've learned not to hoard so much makeup. Remember back in the day when I would buy multiple colours from the same line? I ended up with so much YSL Volupte Lip Shines- which I'm still trying to use up today!

sometext
sometext
The colour I chose was "Lazy" 577, which is described as a mauve rosewood colour. This feels quite nice on the lips too. Less pigment than a regular lipstick but more than a lip balm.

sometext
Also from Fresh, I picked up their Sugar Lip Treatment in "Bloom". I think this was one of their new colours. I actually don't have a complete set of the colours anymore. I used up some, a couple actually went bad, and another couple ended up in the wash... yeah that wasn't a pleasant surprise. Everyone and their mom knows how great these lip balms are. I actually need to go and repurchase some of the colours.

sometext
Last, but not least, I got my hands on the new Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet. I got it in the shade "Fawn". My first choice was for "Dark Rosewood", but they were out of stock, and oddly they are still out of stock as I write this. I really want that colour! I feel like I should just visit the counter and get it there instead. Since I love the Lip Velvet Lipsticks so much, I figured the liquid version would be great as well. They're a matte finish but they don't feel drying like other matte lippies tend to feel. They're creamy, opaque and feel comfortable on the lips.

sometext
This is what I got from the Shiseido sale back in May. I picked up cotton squares for $8, Sunscreen $32, Benefiance day creams $45, Benefiance night creams $47 and Benefiance eye creams $43. That's it, you ask? Where are the other products I usually buy?

sometext
Why here of course. For the above, I got an even better deal when I found them at Winners. The softeners and emulsions were only $29.99 and the Bio-Performance Eye Cream was only $39.99. Luckily I found these before the Shiseido sale, so I saved even more than if I were to purchase at the warehouse.

sometext
On my nails, Essie "Ladylike". This is a new addition to my collection and it's grown to become one of my all-time favourite colours. It's a beautiful soft mauve colour. I highly recommend you pick this up!
