Happy 2017! I go back to work tomorrow which is so not fun to think about right now, so let's not :) New Years was pretty mellow for us. We stayed in this year, ordered pizza and watched Ratatouille. It was such a cute movie, we both liked it. Unfortunately there was no champagne poppin', as the Mister was sick this year (and so was the rest of my family).

Surprisingly this year, I have a couple of New Years resolutions.

1. Be Unapologetic. Be My True Self. Keeping It Real.
I've been raised in a way to feel like I should always be aware of what others think of me. And with that kind of thinking, I feel like a lot of the choices I make in my everyday life are more based on what is socially acceptable than what I would actually want to do. I'm taking a stance this year by not letting what others think affect my choices. At the end of the day, I am not that important for them to ruminate over dinner. People don't care as much as I think they do.

2. Be Healthier, Lose Weight.
I know this seems so generic but I really do have to lose weight. We are aiming to have the wedding in December and the last thing I need is a plump version of myself going forever down in history. Yikes!

I watched Ann Le's video about some lessons you should keep in mind for 2017 and beyond. What she said was so real. I really like how she defies the general consensus.

And, for my first post for the year, I thought I'd share pictures of my room. I haven't posted pics since 2013? You can see my first room tour here. I was actually surprised because I didn't think I took these pictures that long ago... but when I look at the timestamp, it's dated November 2015! Not to worry, apart from a couple changes, my room remains pretty much the same (surprising even for myself...). If anything, the only change from then to now is that it only got more cluttered :S

My wonderful comfy bed! Aside from the comfort of your mattress, the quality of your sheets can make or break your bed. The duvet cover I got is by Wamsutta. It's 100% Egyptian cotton and has a 500 thread count. It feel so luxurious and soft. Really great investment. The lamp on the wall is from Ikea. I liked how industrial looking it is.

My night stand has a new alarm clock because my other one died a long time ago. Also, it should be noted that the Ikea lamp pictured also broke on me (the metal handle broke off). I haven't replaced the lamp because I figured I could just use my room light or the lamp on the wall. When I eventually move out, I'll have two night stands and want matching lamps anyhow.

My windowsill which has actually changed a bit. Now it's more cluttered because I have my snowbush, aloe vera and air plants occupying the space now.

I put up some cube shelving I got from Ikea for more storage. It holds the majority of my tea, tea accessories and some drink mixes.

My printer. Really have no place for it but here.

Moving to the other side of my room, my little round glass table. I would love to have a bar cart... and if I find one I like, I am totally going to replace this table. I have wine bottles now... so it's kind of overflowing and this table just can't do!

This spot has got a little more cluttered now compared to the above picture haha. It's mainly due to having my Birks bag and ring box here. But let's just go with the above pic because it's much cleaner looking ;P

My beautiful closet! A lot has changed in here. I have a lot more storage compared to when I first showed you my closet. The change is quite spectacular and I've really utilized my closet's potential. I want to show you my closet system and how amazing it's made my closet space. I don't know when I'll do it, but if you really want to see it, let me know and I'll prioritize that post.

My vanity. A bit has changed here since my first room tour, but you would have already seen my muji storage unit with my lip products in this post. Also I store my perfumes on my vanity too.

Up here has completely changed (with the exception of the posters). My Christmas decorations are up here... which reminds me that I have to share with you all of my awesome thrift finds I've accumulated over the past year or so. My huge Christmas basket decor item that occupies this space now was only $5! And if you saw it, you'd find it unbelievable too.

And that concludes my room tour. I realized I forgot to take a picture of my bookshelf but you can kind of see it in my first picture. It remains pretty much the same anyway with the exception of more jewelry boxes occupying it's space LOL.

*p.s. If you're wondering why I have a different name up top, it's because I'm testing out a new name.
